Is it permissible to obey the husband regarding the type of hijab, such that it covers the woman's body but is "fashionable" (trousers and a long shirt or a long skirt that does not show the body's joints), instead of the long, Shariah-compliant jilbab with a khimar?

The Islamic dress code for women has specific conditions and specifications. If these are met, then it is considered a legitimate Islamic dress, regardless of its name, and it must be accompanied by covering the face and hands. As for trousers, they are permissible under certain conditions, but it is not permissible for a woman to go out wearing them alone without a covering garment that conceals the body's contours, because they cause temptation and constitute imitation of men.

Covering only the waist and knees is not sufficient, because a woman's garments must be long and flowing, covering her feet. Therefore, it is not permissible to obey the husband in matters that contradict Islamic conditions.

As for feeling hesitant to display the rituals of the religion due to residing in non-Muslim countries, this should not be the case for a believer who is proud of their faith. If residing there leads to such hesitation, then it becomes obligatory to leave these countries, knowing that residing in lands of disbelief is not permissible except under specific conditions.
