Does hair hanging over the face during Wudu invalidate it, or is it permissible to wash it since it is within the area of what must be washed? And what is the meaning of the jurists' saying: "Even if the hair hangs down from its roots but does not go beyond the area of what must be washed"?

If water reaches under the hair that hangs down the forehead while washing the face, the ablution is valid; otherwise, it is not. As for the white area between the ear and the hair, it is part of the head and is to be wiped with it.

Regarding hair, there are three situations concerning wiping the head: 1. Its length does not exceed its place of growth: it is wiped. 2. Its length exceeds its place of growth but does not exceed the boundaries of the head: it is wiped. 3. Its length exceeds its place of growth and the boundaries of the head: it is not obligatory to wipe it, and it is not sufficient to wipe only it.

The statements mentioned by the jurists clarify this: wiping should be done on what is within the head's boundary, not on what extends beyond it.
