Is it permissible to sell an item belonging to the mosque that is about to be damaged for the benefit of the mosque, or to donate its price to the poor?

If there is a concern that the objectives of the endowment might be corrupted, then it is in the best interest to sell its assets and spend the proceeds on the mosque's needs, rather than distributing them to the poor."
