Is it permissible to trim grey hair with scissors?

It is understood from the words of some scholars that it is disliked to cut gray hairs because it resembles plucking. Malik was asked about plucking gray hairs and he said: "I do not know it to be forbidden, but I prefer leaving it." Ibn al-Qasim said: "I do not like plucking it, and I dislike it being cut from its root, as it resembles plucking to me."
