What is the ruling on using a toothbrush that contains silver with the intention of benefiting the teeth?

It is permissible to use a brush if there is a medical need for its treatment, especially if the silver in it is minimal. Silver is permissible in vessels and the like due to need, as Anas did with the Prophet's cup (peace be upon him). The judge considers a small amount of silver permissible without need. It is permissible to use kohl with a gold or silver kohl stick out of need. However, if there is no need to use it, it is not permissible to use a toothbrush made of pure silver, and one should avoid those plated with it to avoid disagreement.
