What is the effect of vices on society?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The spread of vices in a society leads to its corruption and to the descent of Allah's punishment and torment, which afflicts both the righteous and the unrighteous. This is in accordance with the Almighty’s saying: "And fear a trial which will not only strike those who have wronged among you, and know that Allah is severe in penalty." Furthermore, the emergence of sins leads to a punishment that afflicts everyone, examples of which include the spread of diseases and epidemics, the scarcity of blessings, the dominance of enemies, and people fighting among themselves. A society in which evil spreads without being changed is like a people who scuttle a ship they are on; if they are not stopped, they will all perish.
