Does the Hadith "If I test My servant with his two beloved ones [i.e., his eyes] and he shows patience, I will compensate him with Paradise for them" apply to someone who has lost one eye, or is it specific to someone who has completely lost their sight? And is what befell him a sign of Allah's wrath?

The aforementioned hadith is in Sahih al-Bukhari, Musnad Imam Ahmad, and in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad by Al-Bukhari, with the wording: "If I take your two beloved ones and you are patient at the first stroke of grief and seek your reward from Allah," referring to a blind person, not someone who has lost one eye. The one who has lost one eye is also rewarded if they are patient. Calamity is not a sign of Allah's anger; rather, it may be an expiation for sins or an elevation in rank. Allah's testing of His servant in this world is not out of His displeasure, but rather to ward off something disliked, or to expiate sins, or to elevate status. If one accepts it with contentment, their desired outcome will be fulfilled.
