What is al-Qurtubi's biography?

Imam Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Qurtubi, an Andalusian exegete, was born in Cordoba where he studied Arabic, poetry, the Quran, Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), grammar, recitations, rhetoric, and Quranic sciences. He then settled in Egypt and passed away in its Sa'id (Upper Egypt) in the 671st year of the Hijra, being buried in Minya. He was an ascetic, righteous, and deeply learned scholar, with many beneficial works. Al-Dhahabi described him as a meticulous Imam with extensive knowledge.
