Is it permissible to perform surgery to correct strabismus, and is that considered altering God's creation?

A Muslim must praise Allah and be content with His decree, and look to those below him in order to appreciate Allah's blessings. As for undergoing surgery to correct eye misalignment or strabismus, it is permissible if the misalignment is noticeable and striking, reaching the extent of disfigurement and distortion, provided that no harm results from it. This falls under the category of permissible treatment. However, if it does not reach the extent of disfigurement, then it is not permissible, because in that case the intention would be to increase beauty and alter Allah's creation.
