Is the spendthrift who squanders wealth held accountable for prayer, fasting, and Hajj, and what is his judgment in the Hereafter?

The basis of religious obligation (taklif) is intellect, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains his sanity." A fool (safih) is intelligent but does not manage money well, and foolishness does not negate the rulings of Sharia. Therefore, a fool is obligated by all the laws of Islam, such as prayer, fasting, and Hajj, unless his foolishness reaches the level of insanity or imbecility. As for financial matters, money should not be given directly into his hands; rather, it should be in the hands of his guardian who will spend from it on him, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And do not give the foolish your property, which Allah has made a means of sustenance for you, but provide for them out of it, and clothe them, and speak to them words of kindness and justice."
