The answer

The rights of parents are great, and the rights of the mother are even greater. Honoring and being dutiful to one's mother is an obligation upon her child. This obligation does not cease even if the mother wrongs her child by siding with his siblings against him and their injustice towards him. Therefore, it is not permissible for him to sever ties with her and abandon her, otherwise he would fall into the sin of undutifulness to parents. He should maintain ties with his mother, and he can advise her gently and kindly regarding what he believes she has erred in. It is also advised to strive for reconciliation and reunification of the family.
