Must a mother alert her pubescent daughter to the necessity of removing armpit and pubic hair, or does that apply only to a married woman?

Parents are obligated to teach their children the correct creed, Islamic rulings, and manners. This includes drawing their attention to the fact that removing armpit and pubic hair, and similar practices, are among the Sunan of Fitra (innate practices), based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Five are from the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, plucking the armpit hair, clipping the nails, and trimming the mustache." This is prescribed for every Muslim. The Sunnah is to remove hair and clip nails whenever possible, and it should not be delayed for more than forty days, based on the saying of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): "A time limit was set for us for trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, plucking the armpit hair, and shaving the pubic hair, that we should not leave them for more than forty nights."
