What is the legitimate Islamic method for dealing with the continuous, non-aroused discharge of pre-seminal fluid (madhy), and how are the body and clothes purified from it?
If what is mentioned is merely an illusion and there is no certainty, then it should not be given attention, and no ruling of anything exiting should be made except with absolute certainty. However, if there is certainty, then the person is afflicted with chronic urethral discharge (sals al-madhy), and must perform ablution after the prayer time has begun and protect oneself by tying a cloth over the area. They can then pray as many obligatory and supererogatory prayers as they wish until the time expires. The Malikis are of the view that it is not obligatory to take precautions or to perform istinja' (cleansing after discharge) from this excretion, and their opinion can be adopted due to the hardship involved. The method of purification from madhy is explained in Fatwa no. 59304.
