One who abandons prayer, drinks alcohol, and mistreats his family is committing grave sins. It is advisable to supplicate for his guidance and to seek help from those whom he listens to. If he repents and becomes upright, then that is well and good. Otherwise, it is better to seek a divorce. The children's maintenance and custody remain the right of the wife. A woman is not permitted to leave the house without her husband's permission, except in cases of necessity.
