What is the ruling on growing the beard and shortening the garment, taking into account that grooming the beard is more beautiful than letting it grow, and that covering the legs with the garment is more beautiful than shortening it, and based on the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty, and loves to see the effects of His bounty upon His servant"?

The ruling on growing the beard and letting the garment hang low has been previously explained. It is obligatory to follow the Sharia, and the opposition to the polytheists by letting the beard grow is achieved because shaving it is the act of the majority of polytheists. The Hadith "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty" does not contradict this, for the measure of beauty is conformity to theia. There is no compulsion to shorten the garment to mid-calf; rather, it is recommended, and it is permissible to extend it to above the ankles. As for below the ankles, it contradicts piety. The view that prohibits trimming the beard and extending the garment below the ankles is stronger due to explicit evidence.
