What prophet was described as having dark skin, and why does Allah mention whiteness as light and blackness as darkness in the Holy Quran?

The Quran's description of whiteness as light and blackness as darkness is natural due to their suitability. Scholars have differed on the meaning of whiteness and blackness in the verse: "The Day when some faces will turn white and some faces will turn black." The first view holds that the whitening of faces means their radiance with joy, and their blackening means the appearance of sadness and gloom. The second view holds that whiteness and blackness are to be taken literally as light and darkness, and that this is to distinguish the people of truth and light from the people of falsehood and darkness at that standing.
