Should a fasting person complete their fast, break it, and pray Maghrib according to the time of their original country, or according to the time of the country they traveled to, especially with the difference in night and day between the two countries?
If someone prays a prayer and then travels westward, reaching their destination at the time when that prayer's time begins [at the new location], they are not required to repeat it, because a prayer is not performed twice. However, if they are in the mosque and the congregational prayer is established, they should repeat it with the congregation, and it will be considered a supererogatory (nafilah) prayer for them. As for fasting, a traveler is not permitted to break their fast until sunset in the place where they are located, even if the daylight hours are prolonged, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿Then complete the fast until the night.﴾ [Al-Baqarah/187], and based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "When the night approaches from here and the day retreats from here, and the sun sets, then the fasting person has broken their fast." If completing the fast becomes too difficult for them, they are permitted to break it and make up the day after Ramadan.
