What is the ruling on one who shaves part of his head and leaves the other part?

Al-Qaza' is the act of shaving part of the head and leaving part of it, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade it. Scholars unanimously agree on its reprehensibility, except in cases of necessity such as medical treatment. The wisdom behind its reprehensibility is that it disfigures Allah's creation and involves imitating the Jews.
