Is there any evidence for the cessation of torment in the grave, as Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen indicated with his statement: "And as for one who was disobedient but a believer, if he is tormented in his grave, he is tormented in proportion to his sins, and perhaps the torment for his sins is less than the period between his death and the Hour, and in that case, it would beقطع (intermittent/discontinued)"?

Punishment in the grave is of two types: permanent punishment, such as the punishment of disbelievers and those for whom the texts state their punishment is continuous; and temporary punishment, which ceases after a period, and this is the punishment of some disobedient people whose crimes were light. They are punished according to their sins, and then their punishment is alleviated. The punishment may also cease due to a supplication, charity, seeking forgiveness, the reward of Hajj, or recitation that reaches them from the living.
