What is the duty of the guardian regarding his daughter's or wife's voice rising to the point of boisterous laughter (qahqahah)?

A man must encourage his family to perform their duties, prevent them from forbidden acts, and inspire them to embrace virtues, for he is responsible for them. If a wife or daughter raises her voice in front of strangers in a way that causes temptation (fitna), or beyond what is necessary, the man must forbid and discipline them. Women have been forbidden from speaking in a soft and alluring manner, and both men and women have been forbidden from raising their voices beyond what is necessary, as Allah Almighty says: "And lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys." However, if raising the voice is due to necessity and in a manner that does not cause temptation, then there is no harm in it.
