Is a woman compelled to sit and listen to insults from her husband who prevents her from leaving while he is verbally abusing her?

A woman is not obliged to sit with her husband who insults and curses her. She may move to another room, and she may report him to the authorities if she is harmed by his insults. It is not permissible for a husband to insult or curse his wife. If her leaving would exacerbate the situation, it is better for her to be patient, advise him, and avoid what provokes his anger.
