The question

Was the Umrah completed based on the aforementioned discrepancy in the number of circuits, and is a sacrifice (hady), fasting, or feeding ( المساكين ) required? If a sacrifice is required, must it be offered in the Haram, or is it permissible to give its value in Egypt or send it to Saudi Arabia? If fasting is required, how many days are there?

The answer

If you (feminine plural) doubt the number of circuits (ashwāt) during circumambulation (tawaf), you must base your action on certainty (yaqin) and perform the doubtful circuit, as it is considered certain. If your husband, being a reliable witness, informs you that your tawaf is complete, you may accept the opinion of some scholars (such as the Hanbalis and Malikis) who deem this sufficient. However, according to the Shafi'is, only one's own knowledge is sufficient.

If the husband's information is not considered, then your 'Umrah is incomplete. You must refrain from the prohibitions of ihram. The 'Umrah remains in your state of ihram until you return to Mecca to complete the missing circuit, then perform the sa'i, and then exit ihram. As for the prohibitions that occurred before exiting ihram: those related to luxury (such as wearing sewn clothes and using perfume) incur no penalty. Those related to destruction (such as shaving hair and clipping nails) incur one fidyah for each type. Intercourse, if done out of forgetfulness or ignorance, does not invalidate the 'Umrah and entails nothing.

If you are unable to return to Mecca due to illness or lack of funds, you may exit ihram as one who is prevented (muhsar) by offering a sacrifice (hady) – the minimum of which is a sheep – for each of you with the intention of exiting ihram, along with cutting some hair.
