Is it permissible for a Muslim to read the Qur’an and complete its recitation on behalf of another Muslim who is unable to read?

Reciting the Quran on behalf of parents or others is impermissible, as recitation is an act of worship in which substitution is not valid. As for completing the recitation of the Quran and dedicating its reward to them, this is permissible according to some scholars, such as the Hanbalis. Parents can also attain the reward of the recitation by following along or listening.
