The question

How can a girl who does not pray regularly and feels distressed about it be advised, and how can she distance herself from a relationship that began online? And should she be informed of the necessity to make up missed prayers now, or after she becomes regular in her prayers?

The answer

The advisor should remind the girl of the seriousness of neglecting prayer, and that abandoning even one prayer is worse than fornication, theft, drinking alcohol, and taking a life. The girl should contemplate the greatness of Allah and frequently ponder death. She should associate with righteous women and avoid the company of others. She should also supplicate frequently. As for informing her about making up missed prayers, this should be delayed until she becomes regular in her prayers.

As for her chatting with non-mahram young men online, it is forbidden and a great door to temptation. She must fear Allah and cease this action, and be ashamed before Allah that He sees her doing what He dislikes. Allah says: "But as for he who feared the standing before his Lord and prevented the soul from [unlawful] desire, then indeed, Paradise will be his refuge." So whoever strives against their soul with sincerity, Allah will help them. Allah says: "And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways."
