What should a husband do with his wife who repeatedly wastes food despite his advice and reprimand, and is he permitted to threaten her with divorce?

Good food should not be discarded unless there is harm or aversion. In such cases, it should be given to animals, or discarded if no animals are available. Extravagance is treated by cooking less. The responsibility for preserving food or distributing it to the poor is shared between both spouses. Divorce threats should not be made. The man is advised to help his wife with household chores, following the example of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Cooperation in preserving blessings is an act of gratitude to Allah.
