As for the matter of the prayer of the one who drinks alcohol not being accepted for forty days, its meaning is that he will not be rewarded for it, and it is not permissible to abandon prayer or other acts of obedience. This threat is not for the one who repents from drinking alcohol, but rather for the one who persists in it. And whoever repents, Allah will accept his repentance. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin." Repent to Allah from drinking alcohol, associating with transgressors, and all other sins. Allah will accept your prayers and reward you for them. Go for Umrah and strive in supplication that Allah may accept your repentance.
