Is it permissible for professors to add the names of their colleagues as researchers in their scientific research, without their actual participation in writing the research or its idea, in order to increase the number of their researches and accelerate their promotions? And what is the minimum acceptable level of participation for colleagues in research so that it is not considered deception or fraud?

"Seeking to increase job opportunities in this manner is impermissible, as it involves deception, fraud, betrayal, and a waste of trust. The rule is that no one should be attributed with effort they did not exert. Therefore, if someone writes a research paper themselves, it is not permissible for others to claim joint authorship. If someone participates with another in research, they should only be attributed with what they contributed. This is based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: 'The one who claims to have what he has not been given is like one who wears two garments of falsehood.'

A Muslim must strive for truthfulness in their words and actions and avoid lying, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Hold fast to truthfulness, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. A man continues to speak the truth and strive for truthfulness until he is recorded with Allah as a truthful one. Beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. A man continues to lie and strive for lying until he is recorded with Allah as a liar.'"
