How was the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, bewitched, when he is the master of creation and never ceases to remember Allah, knowing that daily remembrances protect a Muslim from envy and magic?

Recitations (dhikr) protect from evil, as indicated by the hadith: "Say 'Qul Huwa Allahu Ahad' (Surah Al-Ikhlas) and the two 'Mu'awwidhatayn' (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas) three times in the evening and in the morning; they will suffice you against everything." It has been confirmed that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was afflicted by magic, but the magic did not harm his body, mind, religion, or message. In Sunan At-Tirmidhi, it is narrated from Abu Hurayrah that whoever says three times in the evening, "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created," will not be harmed by any sting that night. A young girl who had learned this dhikr was stung but felt no pain. In Sahih Muslim, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to someone who had been stung by a scorpion: "Had you said in the evening, 'I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created,' it would not have harmed you." This means that seeking refuge prevents the full effect of harm, and that divine remedies prevent illness or prevent its harm if it occurs.
