What is the optimal way to deal with a wife who refuses to leave her job despite her husband's request and financial ability, in light of the Qur'an and Sunnah?

The wife's work is divided into two situations: The first is if it was stipulated at the time of the contract, in which case the husband is obligated to enable her to work, provided it does not violate Islamic law. The second is if it was not stipulated, in which case the husband is permitted to order her to stop working, and she is obligated to obey.

The resolution of the Islamic Fiqh Academy indicated the permissibility of explicitly stipulating work at the time of the contract, the permissibility of the husband asking the wife to stop working for the benefit of the family, the impermissibility of linking permission to work with the wife's participation in expenses, and that the wife cannot be compelled to work. It also stipulated the wife's right to own what she contributed from her own money, and the impermissibility of abusing this right by either party.

If the wife insists on disobedience without a prior stipulation [for her to work], she is considered defiant (nashiz), and her defiance is addressed by admonition, then by boycotting, then by light, non-injurious beating, or by involving family mediators, or by threatening divorce, or by issuing a single divorce, or by separation. The wife must also know that she is sinful by disobeying her husband.
