Is ablution required to fully obtain the reward of supplication, seeking forgiveness, and the remembrance of Allah?

Purity is not a condition for remembering Allah, the Exalted, through supplication (du'a) and seeking forgiveness (istighfar); rather, the reward is written for the one who is in a state of minor ritual impurity (muhdith). This is indicated by the saying of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to remember Allah at all times." However, the reward for remembrance for the one who has ablution (mutawaddi') is greater, due to the superiority of being in a state of ablution. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked remembering Allah except in a state of purity, as in the hadith of Al-Muhajir bin Qunfudh, who greeted the Prophet while he was performing ablution, and he did not return the greeting until he had finished his ablution, saying: "Indeed, I disliked mentioning Allah except in a state of purity." So, the one who is in a state of minor ritual impurity receives the reward for remembrance, but the reward is magnified with purity.
