What is the ruling on a wife who ignores her husband's words by sleeping until late, and leaves the house for the neighbors' house without his permission, under the pretext of fearing to be alone? And is it permissible for the husband to hit her for this reason?

A wife is advised to obey her husband, not to leave the house without his permission, to be patient, and to avoid sleeping after Asr to prevent laziness and missing prayers. A husband is advised to occupy his wife's time with learning Islamic knowledge, memorizing the Quran, listening to beneficial audiotapes, providing purposeful books, communicating with righteous female callers to Islam (da'iyat), or engaging in handicrafts. The wife must respect her husband and obey him in what is good and permissible. The husband is forbidden from directly striking his wife; rather, he should begin with admonition and advice, then forsake her in bed, and if that does not work, then with a non-violent strike.
