Is it obligatory to defy one's father and prevent him from buying a house in a Shiite area where polytheistic rituals are performed, or should his desire be surrendered to? What should be done if he cannot be prevented? And does this fall under the ruling of migrating from places of polytheism?

Parents must protect themselves and their families from the Fire. Their responsibility entails not residing among people of innovation (bid'ah) and corrupt beliefs, especially the Rawafid (Shi'a), due to the danger this poses to their faith and families. This danger increases when exposed to their malicious schemes and physical harms. Therefore, it is necessary to emigrate from lands of innovation and polytheism (shirk), because a Muslim is not safe there, neither for themselves nor for their family. Likewise, it is not permissible to reside among those who openly display shirk and insult the Companions. If the father insists on living there, then extreme caution must be exercised regarding the Rawafid, neighbors from among the Ahl al-Sunnah should be chosen, and purchasing real estate should be avoided to keep the residence temporary, in hopes that the father will change his mind.
