What is the ruling of the Shari'ah on collecting the hides of Eid sacrificial animals from their owners (without compensation) after performing the rituals, then selling them and using the proceeds to build a mosque?

It is permissible to benefit from the hides of sacrificial animals in all permissible ways. If their owner donates them to an association to sell them and use their proceeds for building a mosque, this is a righteous and permissible act. Scholars differed on the permissibility of the sacrificer selling the hide of the sacrificial animal. The three Imams, Malik, Ahmad, and Al-Shafi'i, forbade it, while Abu Hanifa and Hasan al-Basri permitted it. In this case, the sacrificer did not sell the hide but donated it to the committee, and the committee has the right to dispose of it, including selling it for the aforementioned purpose.
