What is the ruling on selling the hide of the sacrificial animal (Udhiyah) and donating its price, and is it permissible to sell the hide and donate its price if one of the partners objects to that, and what is the specified time for donating the price of the hide?

It is permissible for seven people to share in a sacrificial cow or camel, according to the majority of scholars. It is not permissible to sell any part of the sacrificial animal, such as its hide or anything else, to the butcher or anyone else. Nor is it permissible to give it to the butcher as part of his wages, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever sells the hide of his sacrifice, then there is no sacrifice for him," and his prohibition to Ali from giving the butcher a part of the sacrifice as wages. If the hide is sold or given to the butcher as wages, its value must be given in charity.
