It is not permissible to hang pictures of animate beings, whether real or not, because that prevents the entry of angels. If a child has a talent for drawing, he should be directed to draw inanimate objects. It is better to direct his talent towards learning Arabic calligraphy and writing verses, hadiths, and beneficial wisdoms.
