Is a girl considered disobedient ('aqqah) and cursed if her father, brothers, and husband keep her away from her mother against her will?

L cursing is expulsion from the mercy of Allah, and it is a grave matter that is not established except by a legal proof. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade supplicating against oneself, one's children, and one's wealth, as stated in the noble hadith: "Do not supplicate against yourselves, nor against your children, nor against your wealth."

This woman is sinful for cursing herself without cause, and she must repent to Allah. As for her not seeing her mother, there is no sin upon her in that as long as it is beyond her control. However, she must strive to see her mother and treat her kindly by every possible means. It is not permissible for her to sever ties with her mother in obedience to her father, because "there is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator." Likewise, it is not permissible for her husband to comply with the father's request to prevent his wife from seeing her mother, as this constitutes injustice and severing ties of kinship.

If she is unable to see her mother, there is no sin upon her, and she should not despair. We advise her father, brothers, and husband to fear Allah, for preventing a daughter from seeing her mother is a great injustice. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Beware of injustice, for injustice will be darknesses on the Day of Resurrection."
