What is the ruling on using a Hydrofacial device for cleaning and treating skin problems, and is this considered altering Allah's creation?

HydraFacial is a non-surgical technique that combines the benefits of chemical, crystal, and self-exfoliation, using a special formula of antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, and peptides. The process involves several steps, including removing dead skin cells, vortex exfoliation, vortex extraction, treating specific skin problems, and nourishing the skin.

Regarding the religious ruling, cosmetic procedures are divided into two categories: 1. Those performed for the purpose of increasing beauty and attractiveness: This is forbidden, as it falls under altering Allah's creation, as stated in the Qur'an: ﴿And I will surely command them, and they will alter the creation of Allah.﴾ 2. Those performed for treatment and to remove disfigurement resulting from an accident or illness: This is permissible, by analogy with the hadith of Arfajah ibn As'ad, who had a nose made of gold. This is also permissible because its aim is not to seek beauty but to rectify a defect or disfigurement. The fatwas of the Islamic Fiqh Academy have stipulated the permissibility of necessary and essential cosmetic surgery to restore the shape or function of body parts, to correct congenital or acquired defects, or to remove disfigurement that causes psychological or physical harm.

Based on this, it is permissible to use the HydraFacial device for treatment, such as removing traces of illness, burns, melasma, or acne, provided there is no harm. However, it is not permissible to use it merely for enhancement or to remove wrinkles resulting from aging.
