What is the ruling regarding a husband not going to the mosque to perform the prayer, despite knowing its obligation, and not hearing the Adhan (call to prayer) in his home, and disliking the Imam's manner of prayer?

Congregational prayer is obligatory for every mature, capable man who hears the call [to prayer], based on the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “Whoever hears the call and does not come, there is no prayer for him except for one with an excuse,” and his saying to the blind man: “Do you hear the call to prayer?” He said, “Yes.” He said, “Then answer it.” Hearing the call refers to the usual sound without an amplifier, when voices are quiet and there is nothing preventing one from hearing. The fact that the distance takes 10 minutes to walk usually means that the regular sound can reach, and therefore, the husband must pray in the mosque as long as there are no legitimate impediments.

Congregational prayer is 25 times better than individual prayer, and for the one who performs ablution and comes to the mosque, for every step he takes, a good deed is recorded for him, his rank is raised, and a sin is removed from him, and the angels pray for him. Who would not want their ranks to be raised, their sins removed, and angels to seek forgiveness for them? The husband should be keen on attending congregational prayer in the mosque to be a good role model for his family and children, and to participate in maintaining the mosques, which Allah has praised those who maintain them. A Companion would be brought, leaning on two men, until he stood in the row, and this is evidence of strong faith and their keenness on congregational prayer.

Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) affirms that maintaining prayers where they are called is among the Sunan of guidance, and that whoever lags behind is a known hypocrite. Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned that if a man does not hear the call to congregational prayer without an amplifier, he is permitted to pray at home or with his neighbors, while emphasizing the virtue and reward of the hardship of going to the mosque for those who hear the call, because Allah records the traces of going and returning.
