Is a husband held accountable who stopped communicating with his wife and sending her money after she left the marital home, requested a divorce, and refused his calls and expenses?

A wife who refuses to return to her husband's home and asks him not to call her is considered rebellious (nashiz). Her right to maintenance (nafaqah) and fair division of time (qasm) is forfeited as long as she remains so. An exception to this is if she is pregnant; the preponderant opinion among scholars is that she is then entitled to maintenance due to her pregnancy. The husband is advised to be patient with her, maintain communication, and involve righteous people to mediate and reconcile between them.
