How sound is the subject I read about the virtue of the Ummah of Muhammad, and what is the explanation of the phrases mentioned therein? And has the Ummah of Muhammad been honored with five distinctions: "that He created them weak so they would not be arrogant, and created them small in themselves so that the burden of food, drink, and clothing would be upon them, and made their lifespan short so their sins would be fewer, and made them poor so their reckoning in the Hereafter would be less, and made them the last of nations so their stay in the grave would be shorter"?

What has been reported regarding the virtues of the Ummah of Muhammad in "Tanbih al-Ghafilin" by al-Samarqandi is not valid due to the absence of an isnad (chain of narration) for it. However, the virtues of the Ummah of Muhammad have been mentioned in authentic hadiths and Quranic verses, including:

1. They are the best and most virtuous of nations, the best of people for people, and theirs is the leadership and sovereignty, as Allah the Almighty said: "You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah." {Al Imran: 110}. 2. A nation upon whom mercy is bestowed, their punishment is in their own hands in this world through tribulations, earthquakes, and killing, and in the Hereafter, for every Muslim, a man from the polytheists will be given as a ransom for him from the Fire. 3. A nation that will not agree upon error. 4. A nation for which Allah renews its religion at the head of every hundred years. 5. A nation whose religion is fundamentally based on Tawhid (monotheism). 6. The last of nations and the first to be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection. 7. Half the people of Paradise, or rather, two-thirds of the people of Paradise. 8. Allah multiplies the reward for them. 9. A nation that will bear witness against the rest of the nations on the Day of Resurrection, as Allah the Almighty said: "And thus We have made you a just community that you may be witnesses over the people and the Messenger may be a witness over you."
