Is it permissible for me to give powdered milk as Zakat al-Fitr?

It is not permissible to give zakat al-Fitr except from the food staple relied upon as a basic sustenance in the custom of the people of the land, such as rice and wheat. Therefore, it is not permissible to give it from dried milk unless it becomes a basic food. Sheikh Abd al-Rahman al-Barrak held that it is not permissible to give it from milk unless it is a basic food for a certain people.
