What is the ruling regarding a woman who received a marriage proposal from a committed but financially struggling young man, and her family rejected him for that reason, while she accepts him? Does she have the right to oppose her family, and what is the meaning of the Hadith: "The previously married woman (thayyib) must be asked for her permission"?

Parents are not permitted to reject a young man if he is satisfactory in his religion and character, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If there comes to you one whose religion and character you are pleased with, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and great corruption." The girl has the right to oppose her family, and she may resort to the Sharia courts if their rejection persists. The wording of another Hadith is: "The previously married woman (ayyīm) is not to be married until her command is sought, and the virgin (bikr) is not to be married until her permission is sought." This means that the command of theayyīm is to be sought, so she is not married except by her command, while the bikr's permission is sought, and her silence is her permission.
