The answer

The servant's pain when abandoning a sin is not due to a dislike of Allah's حكم (ruling), but rather a consequence of their attachment and inclination towards it. The questioner (sister) is given the glad tidings that if she is enabled to abandon forbidden things despite her attachment to them and her pain at separating from them, then this is a sign of piety, and she will have great forgiveness and reward, as reported from Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him. Therefore, she must seek Allah's help and remain steadfast in goodness, for whoever leaves something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate them with something better. Indeed, Allah does not waste the reward of those who do good. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "You will not abandon anything for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Exalted, except that Allah will give you something better than it," and "Whoever seeks abstinence, Allah will make him abstinent, and whoever seeks patience, Allah will make him patient."
