When drinking Zamzam water, should one supplicate silently or aloud, and is it a condition that the water used for ruqyah be from Zamzam water, or is it permissible to use any ordinary water?

Zamzam water is blessed and is the best water on earth. The proof for this is the noble Hadith: "Indeed, it is blessed; it is a satisfying food and a cure for illness."

The Hadith: "Zamzam water is for what it is drunk for," means that whoever drinks it for a need will attain it. Scholars and righteous people have experienced this. It is narrated from Ibn Abbas that he said, when drinking Zamzam: "I ask You for beneficial knowledge, abundant provision, and a cure from every illness."

It is recommended, when drinking Zamzam water, to make any permissible supplications one wishes and to drink one's fill of it. However, it is not a condition for water used for Ruqyah (Islamic exorcism/healing) to be Zamzam water.
