What should a Muslim do if he makes a mistake in reciting a verse, such as vocalizing a quiescent letter or quelling a vocalized letter? Should he complete the verse and then repeat it, or should he stop immediately and repeat the verse? And does the ruling differ if stopping would change the meaning?

The reciter must correct an error if they make one in a word, and correcting the error takes precedence over moving past it. There is no harm in pausing to correct an error, even if it leads to a stop before the end of the meaning. If repeating the word where the error occurred distorts the meaning, then something from before it must be repeated to start from a point where it is permissible to begin.
