Which is better: learning the recitations (qira'at) and sciences of the Qur'an, or teaching the Qur'an to others, if it is not possible to combine them?

A Muslim must balance learning and teaching, and not teach what they are ignorant of. If a Muslim masters one recitation (qira'ah) and finds it difficult to learn the rest of the recitations because it conflicts with teaching people who are in dire need of it, then teaching them is more preferable. This is because acts of worship that extend benefit to others are better and yield greater reward. Learning the recitations is a communal obligation (fard kifaya) and is religiously encouraged, and its doer is among "the best of you are those who learn the Qur'an and teach it." Doing good to people brings immense reward, for "the most beloved of people to Allah are those most beneficial to people," and "Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother." Acts of worship that extend benefit to others, such as teaching the Qur'an, are better than acts of worship limited to the individual, like "Today, the fasters have gone with the reward" in jihad, which is an allusion to their receiving greater reward due to the extended benefit of their actions.
