What is the ruling on plucking head hair, especially the hair that is receding (hairline receding from the sides of the forehead)?

The two receding hairlines are the areas where the hair recedes from the head, ascending on its two sides. There is no harm for a man in removing his head hair by plucking or shaving. As for a woman, she should not remove her head hair by shaving or plucking, due to the prohibition of the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding that. Scholars have unanimously agreed that women are not to shave, but rather they are to shorten their hair.
