Does a divorce occur with the pronouncement "Taliq" (You are divorced) followed by silence due to fear, with the intention of completing it with "by my tongue," and is a revocable return (raj'ah) obligatory in this case?

What the man uttered to his mother does not constitute a divorce of his wife, as long as he did not intend divorce by it. He must, however, beware of obsessive thoughts regarding divorce. We also alert him that addressing his mother in the manner mentioned is impermissible due to the offense it causes her. Allah has commanded that parents be addressed with politeness and kindness, as He Almighty said: "So do not say to them, 'Uff,' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy and say, 'My Lord, have mercy upon them as they nurtured me when I was small.'"
