The answer

A father must prevent his children from watching indecent cinema films that contain abominations such as music and the unveiling of women, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire," and the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Each of you is a guardian, and each of you is responsible for his flock." He must prevent young children, even if it requires non-injurious beating, should the need arise. As for adults, he must advise them and remind them of Allah gently and firmly. If they do not desist, then there is no sin upon him as long as he advises them and does not aid them. He may also shun them if he hopes that shunning will benefit them.
