Does the hadith "May Allah curse the one who attaches hair (al-wasilah) and the one who has it attached (al-mustawsilah)" include synthetic hair?

The aforementioned Hadith was narrated by the two Shaykhs and others, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and the text of the Hadith is: "May Allah curse the one who adds hair extensions [to others] and the one for whom hair extensions are added, and the one who tattoos [others] and the one for whom tattoos are done." This prohibition includes both natural and artificial hair.
